Privacy Policy

Scope

This policy covers the Can I Run AI compatibility checker and the public pages available at canirunai.app. The service can be used without an account for its core compatibility checks.

Operator and contact

The service operator and data controller is Can I Run AI, operating through canirunai.app ("Can I Run AI," "we," "us," or "our"). Privacy questions, data requests, and snapshot-removal requests can be sent to support@canirunai.app.

Local hardware detection

The checker may use browser APIs such as WebGPU, WebGL, and navigator.deviceMemory to suggest a hardware profile. This detection happens in your browser. The raw GPU adapter or renderer label is not sent to our snapshot API and is not stored in a shared result.

You can replace the suggestion with a catalog profile or custom values. The confirmed profile contains general specifications such as a display name, memory capacity, device category, and approximate bandwidth.

Shared result snapshots

Share links are available only when server-side storage is enabled. Successfully creating a share link sends the confirmed hardware profile, selected quantization and context, active filters, compatibility estimates, model identifiers, and evidence metadata to our server. We store this data with a random public link so the result remains unchanged when the live catalog updates. If sharing is unavailable or a share request fails, no server-side snapshot is created and the checker can still be used locally.

Do not put personal information in a custom hardware name or search filter before sharing. Anyone with the link can view the snapshot. Shared snapshots currently have no user-controlled expiry or deletion interface.

Routine service data

Our hosting infrastructure may process standard request data such as IP address, browser user agent, requested URL, timestamp, and security logs. This data may be used for delivery, abuse prevention, reliability, and debugging. We do not sell personal information.

The site may use local preferences or cookies to remember language, theme, authentication, and security state.

When enabled, we use Plausible Analytics to understand aggregate traffic such as page views, referral sources, browser, operating system, device type, and approximate geographic region. Plausible states that its standard analytics service does not use cookies or persistent identifiers and does not store raw IP addresses. Plausible does not receive raw GPU adapter labels from our hardware checker. Plausible processes analytics data under its own data policy.

Other optional analytics or customer-service integrations are active only when configured by the operator. Their providers may process request or interaction data under their own policies, and this policy will be updated when a material new integration is enabled.

Data disclosure and retention

We may disclose data to infrastructure and analytics providers that operate the service, when required by law, or when necessary to protect users and the service. Request logs are retained according to the hosting provider's operational settings. Shared snapshots are retained while the sharing feature remains available or until the operator deletes them. There is currently no self-service deletion control; you may request deletion by emailing support@canirunai.app with the snapshot URL.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no Internet service can guarantee absolute security. Share links should be treated as public, unlisted URLs rather than private storage.

Your choices

You can block browser hardware APIs, choose a profile manually, avoid creating a share link, or stop using the service. You may request access, correction, or deletion of information that can reasonably be linked to you, subject to applicable law and our ability to verify the request. Contact support@canirunai.app and include the snapshot URL when relevant.
